Giggles and whispers

After all those years with just one child, I am forever grateful for all my little sprouts.  I LOVE how much they love each other, how much they enjoy each other.  I love to hear them talking and playing and giggling together.  They are the best things I have ever been given and the chance to enjoy each other is the best thing that I have ever given them.

On the Waterfront

We had a great day yesterday at the waterfront.  We listened to buskers.  It was fun and the crowds really got into it.

Rose thought the buskers were too loud. LOL

There were lots of boats in the harbour.

We sat and watched the boats and the jelly fish in the water.

Doesn’t this look a little like that the cover of Beatles album, Abbey road?

We saw the Harbour Hopper on land, giving a tour.  I have always wanted to go for a ride on there.

We also saw the Harbour Hopper on the water too.

Wandering Aengus insisted that his girls deserved Cotton Candy.

Rose wanted no part of the Cotton Candy.  As far as she was concerned, it wasn’t food at all.  Lotus had some but then ripped the candy off and played with the stick. LOL

Lilly had no problems with the Cotton Candy and ate it ALL up!

This man was fun singing a song about the boardwalk.

I have seen this guy at the farmer’s market and wanted to get a pic of him.   Since Wandering Aengus wore a kilt to our wedding, I have a soft spot for a man in a kilt.

The wooden statues outside the stores reminded me of that old song by Charlie Pride, “Kaw liga”

Lilly was pretend to slay the bear with her balloon sword.

I love the decor of the shops down at the waterfront, lots of wood and stone and barrels.

We watched the busker make balloon animals and got all the kids (except Reed at 2 months old, it seems unnecessary. LOL)

Wandering Aengus got me a balloon flower.

I loved the railway tracks.  Since they are still active, Wandering Aengus vetoed any pics with people on the tracks.*pout*

The girls loved the ferry ride.  It is fun that for the price of a bus fare, we get a chance to go for a ride on the water.

We had snacks while watching the buskers.

Silly Girl

Before throwing the girls into the bathtub, we cleaned out the their room. I swear I need a Hazmat suit when I get to digging around in there!!  Anyway, when we did, we piled all the teddy’s, blankets, and pillows and threw them up on the top bunk.  As soon as I did, Lotus (who has a cold, poor baby) climbed up there and jumped into them.  She was so funny covering herself up in all that stuff looking very cozy and silly.

Sunny Days

I had a great day with friends and their kids. It was fun a fun way to spend the long weekend and it was great to see all the kids running around having fun. All together there was 13 kids and 5 moms. One mom even had kids the same ages as my 3 youngest ones.

And my very favorite pic of the day . . . . all my little sprouts in one pic!

Busy day

I had a busy day, shopping and cleaning and getting things done.  It was fun but exhausting.  What does it say about how old I am that a full day of shopping and cleaning completely wiped me out?  I was good about my eating though.  I allowed myself treats but they were vegetarian.  I had a bean burrito with no cheese for lunch and a veggie pizza with no cheese for supper.

I realized that I hadn’t finished all the layouts for Lotus’ first year like I had planned to do and I want to have them done so I can compare them with Reed’s when I do them.  So here is one that I did for when Lotus turned 10 months old.

Together is always better

I love to watch two year old Lotus and three year old Rose play together. They are so sweet and funny.  I love the way that Rose tends to lead and Lotus tends to follow unless Lotus suddenly gets a different idea and throws Rose’s plans all off kilter.  And even though they do sometimes go off and play on their own, they are lost when they can’t play together.  Today at nap time, Rose was sitting on her bed sobbing.  I went in to see what was wrong and she was upset that Lotus had fallen asleep and wasn’t playing with her anymore.

Today for lunch I made a quick but yummy soup.  I about 2 cups of vegetable broth in a pot and threw in 1/2 cup of bulger.  I cooked it for about 1o minutes and then added a whole bunch of frozen vegetables (about 2 cups of thai frozen vegetables).  I thickened it up slightly with a little corn starch.   A little hot sauce, a little extra bullion and it was perfect!

Dressup

My girls love to dress up sometimes it is in a diaper and a backpack, sometimes it is a dress, sometimes it is in Daddy’s shirt and sometimes it is as simple as putting on a hat. I love their imagination and how much joy they get out of their dress-up adventures.

Just a little note

It can’t be a bad thing if your biggest bribe for your kids is vegetables like broccoli and lettuce or even to peanut butter sandwiches. For my two youngest girls, they prefer those things to cookies and other treats. I guess I can’t complain about that.

Hmmm . . . now that wasn’t what I expected

When we put the three girls into one room, we decided to get bunk beds to make more room in the room.  The idea was that 10 year old Lilly could sleep on top and the two littles could share the double bed on bottom.  Little did I know how much my two littles would love the bunk beds.  I CAN NOT keep them off the top bunk.  I even have photographic evidence.
